
The West Wing is a newly refurbished self-contained apartment situated within the grand listed building of Lanwades Hall. Perfect for family or friends for a peaceful get away. The building is very romantic and the gardens extensive and beautiful.
There is another apartment to sleep 14 additional guests within the building available to rent as well.
The Apartment is brand new and very comfortable. One double room is en suite and then another double and a twin room have use of a family bathroom. There is a large kitchen/reception room for everyone to socialise and relax in.
There is also access to some of the grounds of the Hall which includes a children's playground, gardens and grassed areas- lots of space to explore and enjoy. The Apartment is private and exclusive within the mansion itself.
Lanwades Hall hosts many weddings and other events throughout the year but offers its apartments for holiday hire when events are not taking place. We avoid having multiple events or bookings at the same time so guests are not disturbed during their stay.
Please note we have a no party or event policy which means that guests other than those staying are not allowed to visit and use the grounds etc.
Any commercial activities, such as onsite photoshoots, are not permitted as part of the Airbnb booking and should be booked directly with Lanwades Hall.
Sometimes all of the gardens and grounds are accessible but not always. At the very least you have access to some grassed areas, woods and a children's play area with swings, climbing frame and adventure trail. We can confirm this at check in. We have ample free parking in our main car park.
We will meet you at an agreed time on site to hand over the keys and help with any queries. Someone will always be available if any problems do crop up during your stay but otherwise we will give you all the space you need.
Our village has 2 great pubs and a village stores. We are just 5 miles from Newmarket, so an ideal base if you are planning on attending the races or even the horse sales. There is also a wealth of other attractions including those in nearby Cambridge and Bury St. Edmunds as well as outdoor pursuits like go-karting and forest activities
We have ample free parking as well as regular buses to Newmarket and Bury St. Edmunds as well as a train station (Kennett) just 1 mile up the road.
Please note the apartment is located up one flight of stairs. As we are a listed building it unfortunately hasn't been possible to add stair-free access. There are other people using the rest of the main building but this apartment benefits from a separate entrance, only shared with another apartment on the 1st floor, letting you come and go as you please.
